No real update, just a 'catch-up' for this page. The 'attack' thing mentioned in the last post here is long over. It was handled right away. Mediafire deleted my account a while back, so I'm limited to sendspace now. Sendspace expires quickly, so if you find broken links, post about them here. That lj post is open, so you don't need an account there in order to post. Just drop the link in there and I'll reupload the project. It turns out that I don't have enough space to host all of the raw books on my site, and yahoo no longer offers to sell people more space when they run out. If you know of any reasonably priced storage sites (large space, high bandwidth, low price, no questions asked) or any free hosts that are not pop-up ridden, drop me an email. In the meantime, I'll just continue reuploading to sendspace as necessary. Luckily I can fit all of my scanlations on direct links, which is more than a lot of scanlation groups can say. It hurts to see a group's entire collection offline because mediafire pulled the plug without warning...

It seems google is listing my website as an "attack site" because it is "suspicious" to them. The links they include as examples of this "suspicious behavior" are my links to my livejournal group, my yahoo guestbook, and my yahoo poll. I can't speak for livejournal, but unless yahoo's webshosting pages have been hacked in the last 24hrs, I think those links are still safe.
I tried following google's advice to get my site removed from their "suspicious" list, but they can't find anything specific for me to change on it. They say flat out that simply removing my links to yahoo!webhosting and livejournal aren't enough. As far as actual adware/hacks/etc go, they can't find anything bad on my site at all. That's what is so suspicious about it, I guess - the fact that I don't have virus-ridden google ads on my page.
I don't know what I'm supposed to do. I won't pay google $40 to stop listing my site as dangerous when they've already told me they can't find anything dangerous on it. To me, that's a blatant scam. I'm just fine with my website no longer showing up on google searches. The only problem is that firefox apparently uses google's list to determine which sites to warn people away from. That sucks.
So, continue using my site at your own discretion, I guess. I'm not going to stop using it.
So, for those who missed the panic, Megaupload is gone. It's been taken down by the US FBI and from the looks of things that's a permanent death of the site. Stay away from links claiming to be "the new Megaupload" because they're virus type things that will attack your computer etc etc. It's gone. Give up on the old links and stay away from supposedly new ones.
That means all my hard work in the soft section of my site was good timing (I made mediafire links to go with the megaupload ones) and bad timing (I could have been deleting the megaupload links while I was getting rid of all the dead sendspace/savefile links). For now I'm going to go through and delete the megaupload links and stick just with mediafire as my host. I'm not ready to provide direct downloads for all the raw books. That's a lot of books and I don't want my webhost to freak out and start charging me more for suddenly doubling my space and bandwidth. I think what I'll do is get all the links down to *just* mediafire, then when the mediafire links start dying, I'll offer a direct link (while also replacing the mediafire link with a working one). That way my site will grow gradually rather than all at once. Hopefully people will continue to use the mediafire links if they're working and only use the direct ones if there's no other choice. Do the nice thing, not the convenient thing, okay? I don't want to be reduced to begging for donations just to pay for my website. The day I can't afford the hobby is the day I need to drop the hobby. And I'm not ready to do that yet.
New hard yaoi scanlation, Katekyo Hitman Reborn (KHR) [YamamotoxGokudera], joint with DTN & Yorozuya scanlations.
I've also uploaded another NaruSasu scanlation sent to me by Fourangers, a hard yaoi one this time, as well as a hard yaoi raw SasuNaru dj. So there's something for fans of both pairings!
New hard yaoi scanlation, Harry Potter [HarryxDraco], joint with Persepolis130.
I have officially checked every link in the soft yaoi section. I don't want any more emails saying every link is broken. I also don't want to have to add a section to my FAQ explaining that you have to click on the name of the anime in order to get to the page for that anime. This should be common sense and I prefer to go on pretending it is. I know the people complaining about broken links are trying to click on the gray raw thumbnails, expecting them to open up like the scanlations do. I think any human capable of making it to my site should be able to figure out on their own (through trial and error if necessary) that clicking on the name of the anime opens a page full of djs for that anime.
First of all, I've decided to start keeping an update page again. That's news. It'll mostly be a record to help me keep track of my progress toward my new year's resolution - to clean up my site. But I'll also list new scanlations and such.
Fourangers did a scanlation of 10 Rankai's "Jounen Shufu", which is available in the NaruSasu soft yaoi section here. She sent me two other projects which I'll link once I have them up.
I'm working my way through the soft yaoi section first because I got an email saying that every single download link in that section was broken. That wasn't true, of course. Almost all of the megaupload and mediafire links still work even for the really old and unpopular series. I've gone through everything up to the SH/HE section, removing the old dead Savefile and Sendspace links and making sure there are two download options for each project. If you find any broken links in the soft yaoi section (up to but not including the Soul Hunter/Houshin Engi section), please post about it here. You don't need a livejournal account in order to post in that thread..
